Technical FAQs Implementation FAQs

1. When trying to test, why I am getting “Account number not in database”?

Your account number will need to be added to our testing enviroment so you can pass transactions and get valid replies. Please provide your contact information, account numbers (both ground and express), and a snipet of your source code (which does not have to work).

After receiving the above information, your account will be setup on the test servers within approximately 24 to 48 hours.

2. Why am I getting the error "Unable to validate account on FSS" when sending a test transaction?

When sending any transaction in the test environment, this error normally means the test server is currently down.

3. Can I use your sample code that is listed on your website?

The sample code is provided to you for help in developing the product. We do not hold any limitations on using the sample code.

4. Will you support us through the development of FedEx Ship Manager API?

Support is provided for the FSM API from 7am to 7pm Central Standard time. Assistance will be provided for basic troubleshooting of the FSM API. The code you write will not be supported by the FSM API team but we will assist with any error messages received from our server or dealing with the connection of the FSM API to our servers.

5. Testing is complete and I am ready to go live, what is my next step?

Shipping, Rating, and Tracking must be certified through FedEx for use in your application. Once you are ready to go through the certification process, send an email to websupport@fedex.com and request certification for the desired services. For shipping certification, please indicate whether you are certifying for Express shipping , Ground shipping, or both.

In your email, please include the company name, meter number, account number, and the person that is asking for the certification. We will respond to you within twenty four hours, through email, with the directions that need to be followed.

6. Do I have to mail in my labels for certification?

Yes, this is due to the fact that clarity of the labels is a factor in the certification process. The labels can only be produced on a laser printer or a thermal label printer. If we receive labels from a deskjet or inkjet printer, then your certification attempt will be rejected.

Emailing the labels in will always be rejected. Once the labels are received, it will take 48 to 72 hours for the certification to go through.
